Children’s Trust Fund Project

Program Coordinator

Southwestern Child Development Commission, Inc. is accepting applications within Child Care Resource and Referral for a Program Coordinator for the Children’s Trust Fund Project. This grant funded full time position will work with Program Facilitators to develop and conduct parenting classes for families using an established curriculum through Prevent Child Abuse of NC. Training and certification on the curriculum Circle of Parents and Strengthening Families is required and will be provided to the Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for performing family assessments, maintaining data/family records and working collaboratively with community partners to ensure the highest level of customer service to all children and their families. Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, BK or related field and three to five years qualifying experience in an early childhood setting. Previous data collection and program supervision preferred. Certifications required: NC Early Educator Certificate (Minimum of Level 9) and the Professional Development Endorsement. Applicants must have a valid NC Driver’s License and a car available for work.  Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule to include night work is required. Service area includes Macon and Jackson Counties. Applicants with a combination of related educational and experience qualifications will be considered.

Southwestern Child Development Commission, Inc. is accepting applications within Child Care Resource and Referral for a Technical Assistance and Training Consultant.  This position will provide technical assistance, training, support and encouragement to child care programs in the Region 8 service area to achieve higher star licensure and/or to improve licensure status and quality.  Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, BK or related field and two years qualifying experience in an early childhood setting. Completed training and demonstrated competence with the Environmental Rating Scales preferred. Additional certifications are required: CLASS and NC Early Educator Certificate (Minimum of Level 9). Applicants must have a valid NC Driver’s License and a car available for work.   Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule to include some night and weekend work is required.
