 Southwestern Child Development Commission, Inc. is accepting applications for the position of Lead Teacher to work in Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Swain, Jackson and Haywood Counties.  Applicants must have a BA or BS degree and a valid license to teach Birth-Kindergarten or willingness to get an add-on.  Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working in a qualified early childhood educational setting with 0-5 year old children, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain an approved medical statement and meet all state child care licensing requirements.  Must have a car available for work.  Full benefits package is available.

NFP Nurse Supervisor

Southwestern Child Development Commission, Inc., a private nonprofit agency, is accepting applications for a Nurse Supervisor to work with the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) Project.  This position will assure that the NFP program is implemented in accordance with established guidelines and contract requirements and will provide support and oversight to the work of four nurse home visitors who will serve Haywood, Jackson, Macon and Swain counties.  A Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.  Minimum qualifications require at least a Bachelors degree in Nursing and relevant licensing in good standing.  Desired experience includes:  work in public/community health, home visitation, provision of maternal/child health services, program management, one on one supervision and work with diverse populations.  The NFP Project is an evidence based home visitation program for first time parents to help improve pregnancy outcomes, child health and development and self sufficiency.  Applicant must have a current NC Drivers License and an insured automobile available for work.  Competitive wages and the agency’s full benefit package are available.  To apply, submit a NC State Application for Employment to the Human Resources Department, Southwestern Child Development Commission, Inc.
