The goal of the Statewide Family Child Care Home project for Fiscal Year 2019-2020 is to speak with as many FCCH providers, CCR&R and Smart Start Agency staff as well as community stakeholders in order to create a report that provides a realistic picture of the current state of FCCHs in North Carolina.

Prior to the pandemic, Nicole was traveling to meet providers at their respective FCCH Association/Quarterly Meetings to get their feedback on their experiences as providers. She had the pleasure of speaking with current and former parents who have chosen FCCHs and am planning to continue these conversations in the next few months.

Nicole is also speaking with consultants and Lead Agencies that work directly with FCCHs. She is planning to continue these conversations virtually as appropriate and a survey has been created that asks some of the same questions to be distributed at a later date.

In the meantime, she is making herself available to FCCH providers to answer questions and be there as a listening ear.

She is also updating the FCCH tab of the Southwestern website often with encouraging and helpful resources specifically designed for FCCHs. Please stop by our Resources tab to check these out!
